"Dance Like David" Mission Statement
Dance Like David prepare students for future work in the field of dance and related professions by encouraging the realization of individual artistic potential through the integration of creative, physical and intellectual processes. Our curriculum emphasizes modern technique, choreography and performance and includes theoretical, historical and practical studies in dance. Through presentation of high quality performances we contribute to the cultural environment of the community and region. We have been existence since 1995.
Goals of Dance Like David:
- To provide curricular and other experiences for students that develop kinesthetic competency and performance presence, strengthen critical thinking and creative problem solving skills, encourage the development of verbal and written skills, foster the development of students as future artists, support and encourage body-based knowledge and experiential learning, recognize and develop the unique balance of abilities present in each individual.
- To participate in audience development for dance and the performing arts;
- To provide Dance Like David students with exposure to performance and study in dance;
- To provide students with an optimal learning environment that includes adequate resources to sustain excellence and further achievements.
